Margaret Whitmer

Margaret E. Whitmer, age 91, passed away on March 3, 2020 at Mill Run Gardens. Margaret, one of six children, was born on December 7, 1928 to the late Elba and Francis Frost. She was a retired employee of Nationwide Insurance Company with 40+ years of service.

She is survived by daughter Deborah (James) Downerd, son Douglas (Patti) Whitmer of Phoenix, Arizona, grandsons Timothy (Norma) Downerd, Joseph (Cara) Downerd, great-grandsons Jaylin Cade and Cooper Downerd. She will be greatly missed by all.

Cremation will be handled by Shaw-Davis Funeral Homes and a church memorial service will be held for family only. Contributions, if desired, may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Margaret.

A beautiful life that came to an end. She dies as she lived, everyone’s friend. In our hearts a memory will always be kept, as one we loved, and will never forget!

When I cease to be

Turn me into ashes

And scatter me o’er the sea.

For then I’d not be idle.

I’d be part of each daily tide.

I’d find my voice in the ocean’s roar

I’d partake of summer’s joy

At each and every ocean’s side.

I’d revel in being part of the sea

And, for a change, have the moon and stars
