Margaret (Marge) B. Hobson, age 80, wife of the late Howard H. Hobson, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017 at The Manor at Whitehall in hospice care. Marge was born February 22, 1937 in the Bronx, New York to the late Lloyd and Margaret (Lewis) Buehler. She grew up near Trenton, NJ. She and her family lived in Pittsburgh, PA and then the Columbus, Ohio area for the past 30 years.
Although Marge lived with the effects of childhood polio, she never let it stop her from living life to the fullest. She put herself through college at the Trenton State Teachers college. She was active in the Girl Scouts, American Association of University Women, Eastview United Methodist Church, and volunteered throughout her life.” Miss Marge” taught at several daycare facilities in Columbus.
Marge is survived by her daughter, Marcia (Mitchell) Bowling; grandchildren, Cicily Bowling, Tanya (Michael) Policano, Michael (Emily) Bowling, and Deanna Verity; sister Francis Walter; sister-in-law Helen Trefrey; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many dear friends.
In addition to her husband, Howard, and many extended family members, Marge is preceded in death by her son, Howard V. Hobson, on July 15, 2017.
Friends of both Marge and Howard may call on Saturday, October 14, between 10:00 – 11:00 am with the service immediately following at 11:00 am at Eastview United Methodist Church, 1045 Ross Rd, Columbus, OH 43227.
