Lynda Carvetta Nelson-Durr

Lynda passed away peacefully at home with her family on Saturday, July 20th, 2019 in Columbus, Ohio at age 57. She was born on July 1st, 1962 to the parents of Anthony and Verna Mae Nelson.

She graduated from East High school in 1980. After she graduated from high school she joined a non-profit group called The Guardian Angels. She worked various jobs in the food and retail industry. She was a good Mother to her children and being a Grandmother was her greatest joy.  She lived her life to the fullest and she was always the life of the party. Her smile was so contagious and laughter was her medicine. She loved cooking for her family and friends. She was strong, confident, honest, and didn't accept disrespect from anyone.

Survived by Sisters Cecilia Andria Nelson-Jones,  Vernetta Jefferson (Ralph), and Brother Anthony Q. Nelson (Hertha).

Mother to Lyndnae C. Durr, Duane L. Durr Jr, and Terrence M. Nelson.

Mother in law to Breanna Martin. The Grandmother to 5 Grandchildren whom she loved so dearly Na'Raya M. Durr, Ja'Courie A. Williams, Dreyden N. Hairston, Nazariya B. Durr, and Anthony L. Durr.

Nieces Shanna E. Jones, Maggie Walker (Anthony), and Lauren A. Jefferson, Nephew Joesph J. Jones, Great Niece Kierra A. Jones and Marley Walker.

Great Nephews Danyl Jones and Karter Jones. Great Great Niece Ni'Aira Russell.

Best friends to Renee Brock, Valerie Coleman, Johnny and Gina Willis, Terri Johnson, Karen and Pamela Haynes, Nadji Smith, and Barbara Truly. All of them are honorary Aunts and Uncles to her children.

Memorial party in her memory will be held at Blacklick Park 6975 e. Livingston ave, Columbus, Ohio. Saturday July 27th, 2019 at Mulberry shelter all are welcome to come starting at 12:00.
