Louella Pollard

POLLARD

Louella Pollard age 95, (born May 24, 1924) went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 29, 2019.  Louella accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age.  Louella was a devoted Roman Catholic and active in the church in her earlier years.  Louella graduated from Selma University (Selma, AL) with a Bachelor Degree.  In 1950, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio.  Louella enjoyed a career as a Obstetric nurse and later a Visiting nurse with the Visiting Nurse Association in Milwaukee, WI.

Louella was the loving daughter of the late George and Chaney Houston.  Louella was married to the late Van Norwood Pollard.  She was the loving mother of Nkrumah Pollard, Mary Reynolds (Gerald), Helen Mitchell, Maxine Joiner, Bondyne Stephens and Bernice Thompson.   Louella was the cherished grandmother of DeNedra Catrice Peasant, Samantha Reynolds, DeAnna James, Nkrumah Pollard II, Alicia Pollard, Van Pollard, Julius Joiner, Pamela Joiner and Michelle Joiner.  She was the loving great grandmother to Joya, Bryson, Liam, Jaden, Nkrumah III, A’Brina, Shauheem, Shaniya, Nia, Brent, Briana, Terry, MelVan, Tasha and a  host of nieces and nephews.  Louella is survived by her sister Dollie Thomas (San Diego, CA).  She is preceded in death by her sister Eula Walls; her brothers George Houston, Jr., Henry Houston and Columbus Houston and grandson Anthony Joiner.
