Lonnie William Evans Jr.

Lonnie William Evans, Jr “Bill or Billy”., 73, of Sunbury passed away Thursday March 21, 2024 at home. 

He was born on July 17, 1950 to Lonnie William Evans, Sr. and Garnett Marie (Maynard) Evans. 

Lonnie worked as a welder, carpenter, construction supervisor and retired from Delco Water as a Maintenance Supervisor. 

His work ethic was unparalleled, often working long hours to ensure the safety and security of his family who he loved deeply. 

He was a charter member of Genoa Baptist Church and was very blessed serving in the Nursing Home Ministry.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents. 

Lonnie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley (Ressler) Evans, his two sons, David (Holly), Bryan (Christina) and 9 grandchildren: Christopher, Joshua, Mary Carmen, Leah, Alex, Lillian, Lacey, Cole and Isabella. 

He is survived by his two brothers Tommy (Marcella) Evans and Ricky Evans both of Ashland, KY and two sisters Barbara (William) Ronk, of Marengo, Ohio, and Kathy (Ron) Collins of Alabaster, Alabama, a brother-in-law Robert (Linda) Ressler of Clearfield, PA. 

and several nieces, nephews 

His hobby was to buy, restore, and sell Wheel Horse tractors and gardening. Lonnie was well loved by many friends and could always be counted on to offer a helping hand.

The Memorial Service will be Wednesday March 27, 2024 at Genoa Baptist Church, 7562 Lewis Center Rd, Westerville, Ohio 43082

The visitation is from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with Services at 11:00 a.m.
