Leroy Sylvester Mullins

On May 5, 2023, Leroy Sylvester Mullins of Columbus, Ohio passed away suddenly at the age of 81. Leroy was born January 13, 1942 to Alfonso and Verna (St. Clair) Mullins in Columbus, Ohio.

Leroy was a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, as well as the Painters & Drywall Finishers Local Union 1275. He enjoyed listening to music, reading the Bible, crossword puzzles, and lottery scratch-offs. Leroy lived life to the fullest and truly loved his family. He was kind and passionate and made an impact on many lives. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Leroy will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Charlotte Mullins, Barbara Russell, Jackie Richards, Joan Payne and Margaret Robertson; sons Leroy Mullins, Jemale Mullins, Wali Shabazz, and Mick Samuel, daughter Melody Chambers, and longtime partner Ellette Rollins, and numerous other family members including nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.

Leroy was predeceased by his parents, Alfonso and Verna Mullins; brothers Eugene Henderson, Ralph Mullins, Raymond Mullins and Gerald Mullins; sisters Roma Marie and Brenda Wilson.

Please join us for a Memorial service to honor the life of Leroy on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 11a.m. to 1p.m., at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, 34 W. 2nd Avenue, Columbus, OH.
