Lawrence “Larry” O’Connell November 7, 1952 – December 22, 2016
Larry passed away early Thursday morning from cancer surrounded by family. He is survived by his children, Carmen and Brendan O’Connell, his ex-wife but best friend, Maria Agriesti-O’Connell, brothers Danny O’Connell, Kevin (Anne) O’Connell, PJ O’Connell (David Hochman), and sister Peggy Ellsworth (Richie), 2 nieces, 5 nephews, extended family, Bonnie Agriesti and Teresa and Jeff Metcalf, and countless cousins and friends.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents Gerald and JoAnn (Cross) O’Connell.
Larry will be remembered for his larger than life personality, his priceless sense of humor, his generosity, his laugh that filled a room, and his uncanny knowledge. Larry continually participated and worked hard at meetings and events in the local Alcoholics Anonymous.
Cremation was handled by Shaw-Davis Funeral Home in Worthington, Ohio. A Catholic Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic Church, 720 Hamlet Street, Columbus, OH 43215 and an Irish wake to follow at 4:00 pm at The Abbruzzi Club, 8395 Cleveland Avenue NW, Westerville, OH 43081 The family is requesting casual dress for the wake.
