It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Knut Fisch. He passed at his home in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by his loved ones on November 18, 2020 at the age of 58, after having a short hard fought battle with cancer. He was born on June 4, 1962, in his native country of Germany in Hanover.
He loved to travel the world in his 20's and went to live an for extended period of time in Costa Rica in the 80's and 90's. Later in life he came to live in the United States, in Ohio, in the 2000's, where he continued to travel and visit many states until his passing. He loved meeting new people and worked a lot of his life managing hotels in Costa Rica and Columbus, Ohio, until he left to join his fiancé's home cleaning business, where he continued to bring a smile and joy to all of the people he met.
He was a fan of all sports and loved to watch soccer, especially with his soccer club and friends at Mia San Columbus, where they cheered for Bayern Munchic and all things Germany international team. He was a big Yankees fan, a huge Michael Jordan fan, an Ohio State Football fan, a St.Francis DeSales High School sports fan among others. He also was the biggest fan of the show Seinfeld. He loved The Columbus Blue Jackets, as many of the players on the team where his clients, he loved to go to there homes and discuss all things hockey. He is survived by his son Adrian Fisch, who he loved so much and was very proud of, he would take any moment he could to tell anyone about his son; the love of his life Berta Vera, who he met in the early 2010's, and gave him the best years of his life as well as the best food of his life; his loving sisters that are in Germany Karin and Irella Fisch, and Irella’s daughter, his niece, Alina. He was loved by many others including Silvia Cedeno, Adrian’s mom; Clara Isabel Muñoz, Adrian’s Grandmother; Mariel and Karin Cedeño, his nieces who where like his daughters; Jonathan and Mayra Salinas, Berta’s kids and their kids who he loved to teach new sports and things like how to swim; all of his family in Germany uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews he loved you very much, as well as many of his friends Lou, Hartmut, Uwe, Frankie, Marlen, Ronald, Nelsey, Berta’s family and Adrian’s family, all the Mia San Family, and so, so many others to mention- he truly loved all of your friendships. Lastly he loved everyone’s pets so much especially the dogs, Bronieh and Wiz, just to name a few of the pets he came in contact with on a weekly base.
A visitation has been arranged for Monday, November 23, 2020 from 3 pm until 7 pm at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home Clintonville Chapel, on 4341 North High Street ,Columbus, Ohio, 43214. From his family to all the people who touched Knut’s life we thank you for making his life the best it could be he brought love, joy and laughter to many of us and from you guys to him he will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the number in attendance will be limited to 40; masks and social distancing will also be required while visiting the funeral home.
