Dr. Kerry Yolanda Patterson Cole, 62, of Powell, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Kerry was born in Greenville, Mississippi, on February 15, 1956 to Leola Patterson. She was a graduate of Tufts University. Kerry received her medical degree from The Ohio State University and practiced radiology for many years.
Kerry raised her children in Springfield, Ohio, where she lived for nearly 20 years. Kerry was active in her church and the community. She was especially passionate about education, and tutored youth in the area, as well as helping to create a youth service in her home church. In 2016, she relocated to the Columbus, Ohio area to be closer to her grandchildren. Kerry’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Kerry was incredibly brave in her fight against cancer, which she battled for over a year after being diagnosed. She showed courage and determination until her final days. Kerry loved sewing, reading, music, and cooking. Spending time with her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy.
Kerry was preceded in death by her sister, Sheila Parham.
