ALBERT
Kathleen M. Albert, age 85, born July 10, 1931 in Dayton, OH to parents Frank and Helen O’Meara. Passed away peacefully Nov 15, 2016. Preceded in death by daughter Margaret Mary Albert; brother William Francis “Bud” O’Meara, sister-in-law Lila O’Meara; sister Patricia “Peggy” Bauer, brother-in-law Frank Bauer; and brother-in-law Kenny Gerkin. Survived by children William Thomas (Alice) Albert, Jr., Joseph Anthony (MaryClare) Albert, Julie Ann Albert, and Michelle (Robert) Kitzmiller; grandchildren Matthew Albert, MaryKate Albert, MarySara Albert, Christopher Albert, MaryAisha Albert, Jack Albert, Micah Kitzmiller, Devon Kitzmiller, and Mossis Booker; brothers & sisters; Virginia Gerkin; James (JoAnn) O’Meara and John (Karen) O’Meara.  Mom loved life and her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She was a long time parishioner of Immaculate Conception and later Holy Cross Church. She inspired many when she decided to go to college full time at age fifty after her divorce, all the while working and raising her four children. Graduating with honors from Bliss College and earning a degree in accounting, Mom worked for 20 plus years with Columbus Neighborhood Housing Services. When Mom retired, she quickly settled into the role of devoted grandmother and babysitter. Known to friends and family as Katie, Mom was always up for a game of cards and would not hesitate to take your money in a round of euchre. Reading was her passion and she instilled that same passion in her children and grandchildren with frequent trips to the Columbus libraries. She will be dearly missed and remembered by family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Saturday, December 10th, at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 1600 North Hague Avenue, Columbus OH.
