KATHIE LEE SAMSEL

NOV. 4, 1947 – OCT. 11, 2018

Kathie Lee Samsel, 70, of Columbus Ohio passed away at St. Ann’s Hospital early Thursday morning October 11th surrounded by her daughter, son-in-law and her grandkids.

She was born November 4th, 1947 in Cleveland Ohio to Rev. Richard Jackson Jr. and Jean L. (Miller) Jackson.

She has joined her older brother, Richard Jackson III and her younger sister Elizabeth (Bethie) Jackson-Noyes in heaven.  Her younger brother Timothy (Tim) Jackson and his wife Joyce Jackson is the last sibling living of the Jackson family.

She has her two surviving children, Michelle (David) Feltz and Michael Calvert.  And four surviving grandchildren Brenna, Amber-Jean, Sydney and Taylor.

She had over her seventy years many others that called her Mom and Grandma.

She loved to play the piano and sing.  She was brought up to love God and help others.

She proved each and every day of her life how big her heart was as she reached out to so many with giving them help and love.  She had a special place in her heart for the Fresh Start program where she came every Thursday evening to catch up with everyone and play the piano for their services.

Her tenor voice was heard in the choir at Grace Polaris Church and her talent for playing the piano was heard in other churches as well.

She shared her love for sewing and doing arts and crafts as she would work hard in her love of painting ceramics and crocheting from October through Christmas getting gifts made for those she loved.

She had a love for cooking and baking and would always, if needed, share a seat for anyone that wanted to join.

She and her daughter have a love for power tools.  Their table saw, circular saw, nail gun, to name a few, were used many many times to build and improve the home that they shared together.

Her heart was so big and shared not only the love for her Lord and Savior but for her family and friends.  It was so big and full that in the end it could not hold anymore, and God said it was time and took her to be with him as her life and what she stood for would continue to shine and live through those who knew her.
