Karl Schmitt

Karl Schmitt, age 42, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Monday, March 18, 2019.  Karl was born in Orange County, California on November 19, 1976.  He moved to Ohio when he was 17 years old.  He graduated from West Liberty High School and attended Ohio University.  He was employed at Honda in Marysville for the last 15 years.  He was very athletic and enjoyed golf, snowboarding, fishing, and making people smile.  He was an amazing father and an extremely loving husband.  He was an empathetic, compassionate, sympathetic person who was good to everyone.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Karl is survived by his wife, Jana, and two children, Alexander and Liliana; his mother, Janet Schmitt; sisters, Elise and Nicole Schmitt; nieces and nephews, Ashley (children Brayden, Bryson, Brantlee), Dylan, Emma Zerkle; and grandmother, Barbara Masson, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his father, Hans Schmitt.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 23, at 1:00pm at Xenos Christian Fellowship located at 1394 Community Park Dr., Columbus OH 43229.

In lieu of flowers, information will be forthcoming about donations to benefit the family.
