June Hoy

June Hoy, age 81, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on Friday August 21, 2020 at Kobacker house. She was born on September 7, 1938 in Bartley, WV to parents Henry and Dacy Johnson. June had a heart of service, which was reflected in her 15 years of work at Riverside Methodist Hospital, and then again in her career change to the Columbus Board of Education where she worked in food service for 13 years until she retired. She was also a member of the American Diabetes association, the American School Food Service Association, and served in the US Navy. June was also a lover of animals, and doted on many pets throughout her lifetime.

June is preceded in death by her loving husband William J. Hoy Jr, parents Henry and Dacy Johnson, sisters Mary and Rosie, and brother Newman. She is survived by her children Bonita Oxford, James Lewis, and David Hoy, step-children Joe Hoy and Linda Leach, sisters Linda Johnson, Lorene Short, Judy Callicoat, and grandchildren Eric and Phillip Oxford.

Services in her honor will be held on August 31, 2020 at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Homes Clintonville Chapel, 4341 N High St., Columbus, Ohio 43214. The family will receive guests from 10 am to 11 am, with the funeral service beginning at 11 am, followed by a graveside service at Franklin Hills Memorial Garden in Canal Winchester, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, June has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
