Julie Marie Dick (50), passed away unexpectedly in her Columbus, Ohio home on April 2nd, 2025. Born in Evansville, Indiana on September 4th of 1974, Julie was a loving mother, sister, and friend.
Julie is survived by her four children Alex (Eleanor) Smith, Evelyn Smith, Edward Smith, and Ethan Smith; her father Paul Dick and his wife Shirley, her sister Jenny Dick (Nickell) and her husband Chris, her brothers Jeremy Dick and Jordan Dick and Jordan’s husband, Ryan; and LeAndrew Smith, the father of her children.
Julie is preceded in death by her grandmother Eleanor Muchmore, her mother Linda Melton and her sister-in-law Gail Barrie (Jeremy Dick).
Julie was a loving soul, caring deeply for her children and supporting them in all of their endeavors. She loved to attend her children’s tennis matches, swim meets, and football games, watching from the stands and cheering them on.
Julie constantly brought joy and humor to those around her, and many of those she worked with knew her as a dependable individual. She was always supportive of the people she worked with, often volunteering for on-call and never passing up the opportunity to pack a wound or offer up some witty remark to a difficult patient or a petulant physician.
She has received degrees from Ohio Dominican University and Mount Carmel College of Nursing, and worked for St. Ann’s hospital up until her passing.
Her main interests revolved around reading, listening to audiobooks in her car and attending book clubs frequently. Julie also loved coffee, often going out to get coffee with those she cared about.
Julie will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family, and we hope that she has now found peace.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider donating to support Julie’s family in this incredibly difficult time.
