We are sad to announce the passing of Joy Ann Goebel, age 58.. from Columbus, Ohio.. who passed away on March 12th, 2024 .. after a nine year battle with Huntington's disease.
Joy was born on January 3rd, 1966. She was one of five siblings from Rita Keyse & another from Boyd Farley.
She grew up in Columbus but her heart belonged in Florida. She lived there for years & her second parents - were Birdie & Wayne. They had adult children & they all accepted Joy as a part of their family.
She was a great worker & started her first job at only 14 years old. She worked many rewarding jobs, over the years. But her favorite career, was while at Chase Bank.
She moved back to Ohio eventually & her & her ex husband Gregg, raised her daughter Amanda in a lovely home in Hilliard.
She truly loved being a mom & motherhood was her best quality. She became a mother figure, to all the girlfriends & they enjoyed spending time with her & her kindness, fun, creative & adventurous nature.
She had unconditional love & was also a caregiver for employment, in her later life as well.
She loved going out with friends & having a good time. Was even nicknamed “Tiger”. Being a passenger on a motorcycle was also something Joy enjoyed. Elvis too. Girl time. Shopping. Laughing. Being silly. Also serious. Such a beautiful soul.
In 2015, unfortunately her & her sister Sherri, were diagnosed with a rare genetic disease. Huntington's. It is a progressive disease & she held on for nine years after. She loved her grand children & wanted to watch them grow.
She had a gorgeous smile.
She was a strong fighter.
A thoughtful soul, who will be missed by the many lives she touched.
We know she is free from pain & is peacefully at sea, in the crystal-clear waters of her dreams.
Until we meet again in heaven.
Joy’s departure comes as a shock & a deep wound & is felt by countless loved ones, who cherished her deeply. Her family appreciates your support during this time.
She would love to be remembered - with funny stories, celebrating what was good & blessed in her life.
Family & friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life. A visitation will be held at Shaw-Davis at 4341 North High Street On March 23rd, from 1 to 3pm.Saturday, March 23, 2024
