Joseph David Chevallard (Joe) passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024, at Mount Carmel East. Joe, a lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio, is survived by his son, Chris Chevallard; his daughter, Aymee Chevallard; his grandsons, Jay Charles, Mathew Pitkiewicz, and Justin Murray; his granddaughter, Kristian Pitkiewicz; his sister, Linda Chevallard; his brother, Mike Chevallard; and his nephews, Jason Chevallard, Joe Dow, and Nate Dow.

Joe was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Thelma (Ruth) Chevallard (Hess), his brother, Phil Chevallard, and his sister-in-law, Marilyn (Hribar) Chevallard.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Joe was a proud Southender and a devoted veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War, working on military vehicles for the Army before being honorably discharged. His life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family and his passions. Joe was die hard fan of OSU College Football, enjoyed playing spot cards, and loved golf. His 20-year career as a professional carpet installer was punctuated by his proud stories of the many homes he had the pleasure of working in.

Those who knew Joe will fondly remember his generous spirit and his quick wit, especially his spirited reactions to questionable referee calls during any and all sports events. His commitment to his values, deeply influenced by his mother Ruth, a Catholic school teacher, was evident in all aspects of his life. Joe’s culinary skills, particularly his unmatched spaghetti and meatballs and his renowned cheeseball, will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of experiencing them.
