John Strickland III

John D. Strickland III, age 61, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on February 23, 2020. He was born on October 22, 1958 to parents John Strickland and Bernice (Dowdy) Strickland in Columbus, Ohio. John was an avid football fan, who loved his Buckeyes as well as coaching for and serving as a commissioner for the JFLW in Westerville, Ohio. He was an aspiring drummer who enjoyed all types of Blues and Rock n’ Roll.

John is preceded in death by his parents John and Bernice (Dowdy) Strickland and brother Gary Strickland. He is survived by his spouse Lisa (Hickey) Strickland, son Jonathan (Alexandra) Strickland, son Jory Strickland, daughter Christinia Strickland, son Jeremy Strickland, brother Ken (Judy) Strickland, nephew Todd (Christine) Strickland, niece Tamara (Dave) Strickland, great- nieces and nephews Tyler Strickland, Georgia Strickland, Emerald Strickland, Elliot Strickland, as well as many other loving family members and friends.

A memorial service in his honor will be held on February 28, 2020 at Columbus Mennonite Church, 35 Oakland Park Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43214 at 5:30 pm, with a time for fellowship immediately after the service.
