John S. Skuratowicz, age 78 of Columbus passed away unexpectedly of natural causes peacefully in his home January 1, 2015. Preceded in death by parents, Antoni and Anna (Guzdzielski) and brother, Peter Skuratowicz.
John earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Trinity University, San Antonio, TX. He then went on to earn his Doctorate in organic chemistry from The Ohio State University. John’s life-long interest in coins and stamps led to his opening Graceland Collectibles, which he owned and operated for many years. In retirement, John worked as a buyer for Mr. Bill’s Collectibles. He was an avid contract bridge player, loved to work Sudoku puzzles and read science fiction. Papa, as many of us knew him, gifted those he knew with his highly prized homemade organic black raspberry preserves. He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed. Papa never met a stranger.
