John Nester

John Henry Nester, passed away peacefully at 12:05 am, June 1 at the age of 68. Predeceased by his parents, Mary Lou Schneider and Henry Nester, his sister Sharyn Britton, and his brother, Kenneth Nester.

Survived by two daughters, Brianne and Lindy, two grandchildren, Josie Armstrong and Evie Armstrong, two siblings, Nancy Csongei, and Dennis Nester, lifelong friend and Broski, Walter Solch, his beloved Aunt Ruth, cousins who were like siblings: John, Steph, Kim, Peter, Dan, John Paul, Chris, Bill and Cecil and 11 nieces and nephews: Susan, Patty, Jenny, Alex, Billy, Doug, Dave, Steve, Matt, Nancy,and Danny.

John had an infectious personality, contagious enthusiasm, and an incredible sense of humor. He was an avid guitar player and wooed family and friends, alike, with his kill on his 12 string. A memorial service will be held in John’s honor at the Schneider farm, August 12, from 2-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park: https://home.nps.gov/grsm/getinvolved/supportyourpark/joinourfriends.htm.
