JoDella P. Wilson was born on August 6, 1952 to the union of William H. Parr and Margaret E. Winbush Parr. She departed this life on December 7, 2020, at the Kobacker House at Riverside Hospital, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. JoDella was the oldest of 5 children.
JoDella was a majorette at East High School. Following graduation, she continued her studies at Capitol University, where she earned a Bachelor Degree in Criminology and graduated with Honors. After Capitol University, she went on to The Ohio State University, where she received her Master’s Degree in Social Work. She was also a proud member of SAAAC, a lover of fine jewelry, and art. She took pride in her work, and was always there to help. She had such a loving and giving heart.
JoDella is preceded in death by parents William and Margaret Parr, brothers Derwin Parr, Robert Jarrett Jr., and sister Josie Jarrett. She is survived by son David M. Peebles, daugther Katrina Peebles-Rodriguez, sister Michelle Jarrett Jackson, granddaughter Taylor Smith, lifelong friends Pastor Charles and Kaye White, Barbara Burgess, Myra Keel, special cousin Barbara Ann Tate, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many other beloved family members and friends. She will be sadly missed.
Services in JoDella’s honor will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Shaw-Davis Clintonville Chapel, 4341 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214. The family will receive guests from 12 pm to 1 pm, with a service for immediate family members and close friends beginning at 1 pm. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the number in attendance will be limited to 40 people; masks and social distancing will also be required while visiting the funeral home.
