Jerry Joe Cochran

February 15, 1947 — September 29, 2023

Jerry Joe Cochran born February 15, 1947 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Raymond E Cochran and Edna Mae Clary Cochran fought a short battle with lung and bone cancer. He wanted to win the fight and be in remission. When asked he said “I want to get better so I can take care of my family.”

Survived by his wife Karen (Abraham) Cochran of nearly 40 years. His sisters Penny Moore and Pamela Saunders, brothers Marvin Cochran and Earl Cochran, daughters Angie Cochran (Herb) and Donna Niemela, grandchildren Zachary Bocook, Megan Niemela (Benny) and Caitlyn Niemela, James Germany and Brian Germany, Great-Grandchildren Riley and Connor Shann, Riley and Jaxson Lambert, Brison Germany and Jimmy Germany. Many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Cochran, his brothers Charles Cochran, Ronald Cochran, Raymond Franklin Cochran, his daughter Michele Waldrop Germany and grandson Robert Germany.

Jerry was a devoted member of Roofers Local 86 for over 40 years and always ready and willing to help his local. Jerry cherished his family and loved to hang out in the garage he built, working on cars, listening to music, drinking beer, hanging with friends and family. He became the handyman for all his loved ones. Always ready to work on a project and help the entire family. Back in the day he enjoyed watching boxing and racing and going to the local races. Jerry was a good-hearted man. He was loved as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin and friend. He was not a man of many words, but we knew he loved us when he said “see ya kid” or “ya kid.”
