Jeffrey Lynn Thompson, 63, of San Carlos, California, passed away January 23, 2019 after courageously battling liver cancer for several years. Jeff was born in Columbus on July 14, 1955, the second child of Jack Thompson and Beverly Carpenter Thompson, both deceased. He graduated from Bishop Ready High School in 1973, and attended Ohio State University and Columbus College of Art and Design.
Jeff lived as an out gay man who enjoyed art, theatre, interior design, dance music, movies, travel, celebrity news, working out, and spending time with friends and family. He treasured the sobriety he maintained over his last 20+ years. He will be greatly missed by friends and family members in Ohio, California, and elsewhere, who appreciated his quick wit and unique perspective.
Jeff is survived by brothers Steven and Joseph Thompson, sisters Lisa Miller, Denise and Christy Thompson, and Beth Seagle. Also survived by nieces Ashley Miller Dennis, Sarah Thompson, Kalee Seagle, Jenna Seagle, and Emilee Seagle; nephews Jordan Miller and Jacob Thompson; great-nephew Evan Miller and great-niece Lauryn Miller; sister-in-law Sherrie Thompson, niece-in-law Chelsea Miller and nephew-in-law Joseph Dennis.
A memorial service will be held at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home (4341 N High St) on Sunday, February 17, at 1PM. Please check the Shaw-Davis website (www.shaw-davis.com) for further details. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Kobacker House Hospice.
