Jeffrey Joseph Frey Jr, age 33, Son, Brother, Father, Husband, and Wildcard, entered his spiritual home on Monday, January 2, 2023.
Since Jeffrey was born on January 27, 1989 in Columbus, Ohio, the world has continued to try to “keep up with Jeff!” Jeffrey trail-blazed his own paths, lived by his own set of rules, and did so with a golden heart in tow.
Jeffrey grew from a rambunctious and smiley toddler, to a hell raisin’ high schooler on two wheels (a 10-speed, y’all). When you heard that contagious laugh, and saw those Bob Marley dreadlocks coming your way, you knew you were in for an absolute adventure! Jeffrey graduated from Westerville South High school in 2007.
In 2009, leaving his drum set and hair behind, Jeffrey proudly committed to serve his country by enlisting in The United States Marine Corps. He served as a decorated Small Arms Repairer/Technician for almost four years in The Marine Corp Security Force Battalion at the Naval Submarine Base in Kings Bay, Georgia. He was honorably discharged on April 3, 2012, earning the rank of Corporal.
Jeffrey was a passionate creator and innovator. He possessed an obsessive brilliance and cultivated an endless number of interests. His creativity showed through the use of his hands. From drawing, tattooing, drumming, building firearms, and even composting (he had some of the largest earthworms you’ve ever seen in your life!). He mastered everything with ease and was always onto the next. Jeffrey’s gift was making people laugh. He carried a twinkle in his eye, and a joy in his laughter, which he passed onto his two beautiful children. To know him was to love him. Jeffrey was known to act as a stand-in warrior for those he felt were being treated unfairly. He simply did not tolerate an overreach of power on the helpless. He was a badass with a necessary gentleness.
With the love of his life, Brittney Crawford, Jeffrey’s most adored creations were his two children Amelia Rain and Jeffrey J. Frey III. He took pride in his babies and loved his beautiful family deeply. They were a loyal source of his comfort, security and stability. Jeffrey will be deeply missed by his family, friends and many acquaintances.
Jeffrey is survived by his adoring girlfriend of 15 years, Brittney Ann Crawford; Children, Amelia Rain Frey and Jeffrey Joseph Frey III; Mother, Tonya Sue Frey; Stepmother, Stephanie Ann Frey; Sister, Desiree (Anthony “Tj”) Clark; Nephews, Anthony (Tre) Clark III and Da’Shan Clark; Niece, A’Mya Clark; Stepsister, Kristy Yerian Taylor; Nephew, Tony Yerian; Neices, Alexis and Destiny Taylor; Grandfather, Charles Lankford. He is preceded in death by his father, Jeffrey Joseph Frey Sr.; grandparents, Donald and Mara Frey, Woodrow Kendrick Jr (Woody), and Wilberta Lankford.
Jeffrey could never promise to be on time, but he always promised a good time!
