Jeannie Mobley

February 27, 1941 — November 19, 2016

Mrs. Jeannie Ford Mobley died peacefully at home on the morning of November 19, 2016 from complications of dementia.  She was born in Gamber, Maryland on February 27, 1941. Her parents were Henry Todd Ford and Evelyn Albertha Barnes. Jeannie was the youngest of  seven Ford children; having three brothers, (Henry, Jr, Edsel, and Gerald), and three sisters, (Inez, Wylda, and Sylvia).

Jeannie graduated from University of Maryland with a B.S. degree in Home Economics in 1963, after which she taught home economics at Hereford High School for three years.

On June 20, 1964, she married Carroll E. Mobley, Jr. at the Calvary Methodist Church in Gamber, Md. They were blessed with two children, Laura Jeane in 1967, and Carroll David in 1970. Jeannie and her family lived in Upper Arlington for 47 years.

She was a strong, caring, and loving wife, mother, and friend of many.  Proverbs, Chapter 31, verses 10 - 31, appropriately relate to Jeannie.

Jeannie is survived by her husband and children, her brother Gerald, her sister Sylvia and her husband Skip Arbaugh, her sister-in-law Joyce Ford, her brother and sister-in-law Terry and Bev Mobley, and many nieces and nephews.

Special recognition and appreciation is given to Miss Jael Obiero, Mrs. Suzanne Smith, and Dr. Daniel Melaragno, all of whom gave Jeannie and her family exceptional attention and care during her struggle with dementia.

Jeannie is to be cremated. A celebration-of-life gathering with her friends will be held at the Mobley home several weeks following her death. Another celebration-of-life gathering for her family and friends in Maryland will be held in the Spring of 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made in her name to either OhioHealth Hospice, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, or the charity of their choice.

She will live in our memories forever.
