Jean Ruby Kerns, born February 19, 1924, in Detroit, MI, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, February 25, 2017, in Simpsonville, SC, with her family by her side. She is survived by her sons, Mark A. Kerns of Spring, TX and Tim A. Kerns of Simpsonville, SC; three grandchildren, Katie Kerns, Matthew Kerns, and Andrea Kerns Hyman; two great-grandchildren, Mason Hyman and Colt Hyman; and one sister, Fern Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Ruby and Lillian Kappen Ruby; her husband, Allen F. Kerns, and her brother, Don Ruby. Jean was a member of the Methodist Church, a former real estate agent as well as other professional occupations, a homemaker, and enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. The family will receive friends Friday, March 3rd, from 11:00am-12:00pm at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, 4341 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214., and the Service will follow at 1:00pm at Union Cemetery.
