Javin Lamont Duncan was born January 26, 1974 and passed sudden & unexpectedly on October 3, 2017.
Javin was the eldest son of Manette Smith Chukwumah of Columbus, Ohio & Wallace Duncan of Tampa, Fl. He was the proud father of Tyler Javin Duncan, his “Wittle Piggy” and spent over 17 years together with Tyler’s mother, Cameron Alley. Javin was a big brother & fierce protector to Lakisha Carruth, Ifey , Obi (Danielle), Chiedu, & Chidozi (Danielle) Chuwumah. Javin was an uncle to Cierra Guynes, Celeste Carruth, Myles Macklin, Zina, Amara, & Ifeanyichukwi Jr. Chukwumah and Chidozi Jr. Chukwumah. He was a nephew & cousin to a host of aunts, uncles, & cousins, all of whom he loved greatly. Javin was a stepson to Hillary Carruth & Ben Chukwumah. Javin was like a brother to his life-long special friend Todd Miller, and a host of many other dear friends - too many to mention, and he was blessed to have them all. He was loved and admired, and cared for deeply by so many people.
Javin was the captain of the Worthington Kilbourne Football Team in high school and always an avid Buckeye fan. He was a sports lover and fisherman, and well known by many for throwing down on the grill cooking out with family and friends. He started a career in the tree and landscaping business at the age of 18. Javin was very proud of his work and his knowledge about God’s green earth, no matter what it was. Over the years he had established a large customer base and was always most comfortable in his own skin when he was selling “tree work”. But his proudest accomplishment ever was the birth of his son, Tyler Javin whom he loved so very much. Javin even through his own trials and tribulations, always tried to lift whoever was around him and encourage others that may have been struggling with their own life issues. His personality was larger than life. A big ol’ smile and an infectious laugh. He loved to sing along to anything with his loud booming voice and could always bring a smile to your face while dancing around and turning whatever was available into his microphone.
His heart was always in the right place & he fought a good fight. His struggles are over and he is now at peace. He will forever be missed and will never be forgotten.
