Janet Mildred Seymour

Janet Mildred Seymour sadly passed away on Friday October 4, 2024 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, OH.

Janet Mildred Seymour was born on August 19, 1956 in Aiken, SC to the late Edward Seymour and Alice Brown. She later moved to Brooklyn, NY. She attended Richmond Hill High School in Queens, New York.

Janet was a strong, tenacious, opinionated, funny, vibrant woman. Janet was fiercely loyal and defended her children against anyone. She was outspoken and would not be intimidated. Janet gained many skills through the different jobs she held in Brooklyn. In 2001, Janet moved to Connecticut where she was employed at SNET (AT&T). She stayed there until 2011 when she retired. Janet was diagnosed with breast cancer and after 16 brave years of fighting, she sadly succumbed to the disease.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents Edward & Alice, her sisters Queenie and Patricia.

She leaves behind to mourn are her brothers, James & Robert Seymour, her children Tremayne Seymour, Zikkiyia Catten, Jimmel Seymour, Shavone Seymour, Shannon Walker, John H Walker III and Tristin Washington. Her grandchildren Tremayne Dinkins, Jinnel Johnson, Shawna Robinson, Ramiya Catten, Lequan Johnson, Raheim Johnson, Ireyana Williams, Toniya Williams, Luqwan Deveaux, Jayden Walker, Caleb Walker and Madison Seymour. Nieces Jade and Jamie Seymour; Nephew Leshaun Seymour and host of aunts, uncles, cousins, great grandchildren and other family members, friends and former colleagues.
