Janeene Rogers Brown, 84, of Westerville, passed away on February 20, 2023 after a brief illness. Janeene was born to Glenn and Eva Rogers in Lima, Ohio. She had a sweet smile, joyful presence and was loved by many. Her soft-spoken disposition was rooted in a quiet, sincere faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Brown. They were married for 53 years and were proud of their four children.
Janeene was precise and believed it was important to do everything well. She never cut corners, rather dedicated herself with conviction and integrity in every area of her life. She enjoyed working in Accounting and retired after 27 years. She also volunteered as the Financial Secretary and Treasurer for almost 30 years at her church.
Janeene loved and cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved spending time with other family members and friends. Janeene belonged to two card clubs for over 50 years with friends who loved getting together to play cards and dominoes. For numerous years, Janeene and Don froze and canned fruits and vegetables raised in their garden. They always enjoyed their homegrown goods throughout the year. Lastly, Janeene volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and 4-H leader as well.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Pam (Brown) Howell (Jerry) Gainesville, GA; Roger Brown (Joy) Centerburg; Karen (Brown) Grove (Mike) Columbus and Tricia (Brown) Tanis (Dave) Dillsburg, PA. She had nine grandchildren: Heather Brown; Steven Grove; Justin (Hannah) Howell; Stacy (Josh) Holden; Jarrod Howell; Kelli Grove; Ben Tanis; Hannah Tanis; Peter Tanis and three great granddaughters: Aisling Holden, Astrid Marie Grove and Holly Howell. She is survived by her brother, Retired Colonel Glenn David (Kathryn) Rogers in Henderson, NV; her sister, Marlene Rogers in Elyria; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Beth) Brown in Marysville, Dick (Lois) Brown in Ashley; sister-In-law, Sharon (Brown) Hall in Caledonia and the late Phil Hall and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm at Harlem Road Church, 5520 Harlem Road, Galena, Ohio. Services will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Janeene’s memory to Harlem Road Church, Galena, Ohio.
