James “Jim” A. Hart, 78, passed away at his home in Grove City, Ohio on July 10th, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 12th, 1945. He was married to his wife, Patricia Hart, for 58 years. Jim and Pat met at 13 years old. They were sweethearts all through school. We witnessed his love and dedication to his “Sweetheart and BabyDoll” as they always told each other how much they loved one another till the end of Jim’s life. Patricia still feels like Jim is by her side.
Jim went to South High School and was very talented throughout his school years. He ran track in school and won many trophies. Jim was very artistic and the Columbus Dispatch even wanted him to come and work for their company to draw art. He was a car salesman for 30 years, working alongside his brother Mike. They worked side by side, enjoying selling cars for Trader Buds, Columbus Auto Resale. Early on, they even had their own car lot. Jim retired from Columbus Auto Resale due to health issues.
Jim was known as “Big Daddy”. He enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales. Jim had a passion for collecting glassware and antique furniture. He collected so much that he ended up opening his own antique store located in downtown Grove City. Jim lived passionately for his family. He enjoyed all the family gatherings for celebrations and holidays. Jim enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He loved all the visits with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Another passion of Jim’s was to hunt and fish. He always looked forward to his fishing and hunting trips with his son (Jim) and grandsons. Jim would always get back from one of these trips and sit around telling everyone the stories of the Big Buck or Fish that got away. He also owned horses and raced them in his free time.
