Jacob(Jake) Hora

Jacob (Jake) James Hora, 27, of Denver, Iowa, currently living in Dublin Ohio and working as the manager of the Buckle Inc, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in Dublin, Ohio. Jake was born on September 6, 1994, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Brett (Lisa) Hora, Kami (Tom) Lanigan. While at Denver High School, Jake was a dedicated friend and loved football. He graduated in May of 2013 from Denver High School. After high school Jake attended Junior College at Iowa Central Community College and Hawkeye Community College. While at Iowa Central he played football, which was his true passion. After college Jake started working in sales at the Buckle Inc and was rapidly promoted to various assistant management positions throughout the Midwest. Most recently he was promoted to store manager in Columbus, Ohio. Jake loved being with family and friends and being part of a team. Jake’s infectious smile and laugh always brightened the day and he wore his heart on his sleeve. His keen eye for fashion and his kindness to others was always admired. Jake’s memory is honored by his parents, Brett Hora (Lisa) of Granger, Iowa and Kami Lanigan (Tom) of West Union, Iowa; his siblings, Derek Lanigan (Maggie),  Brooke DenHartog (Tyler), Katy Schwering (John),  Alli Hora, John Hora (Lindsay); Connor Hanke and Hannah Hanke; his nieces and nephews, Madison, Sydney and Aiden Lanigan, Breckin and Hudsin DenHartog, Bo and Mila Schwering, and Marley and Remy Hora. He also leaves behind eight aunt and uncles, nine cousins and eighteen second cousins. Jake is preceded in death by his Grandparents Jim and Kay Frantz and Ted and Pat Hora.

A Celebration of Jake’s life will be held on February 12th from Noon to 3:00 pm at the VFW in Des Moines Iowa. All friends and family are invited. Meal will be provided, a private family burial will be held on a different date.
