Huicha Ko

April 23, 1948 — October 3, 2019

Many in the Korean and American community know her as Hui Cha, but as recently she goes by the name Nicole to ease the name confusion where she resided in Westerville.  Being such a strong woman throughout life, Hui Cha gave cancer a bout that it will not want to face again.  Born Han Hui Cha on April 23rd 1948, Inchon, South Korea, Nicole has extended family and is proceeded in death by her Children James Davis, Lia Han Slocum, Mark Han Wigfall, Heeyong Ko and her Husband of 30 plus years Yong P. Ko.  In addition to her children, Grandchildren Miguel, Ashley, Kaylee, Jayden, Taysia, Terry, Tyjuan, Talea, Christian, Korea, Taejon and Ava along with Eight Great Grandchildren.

After moving to the U.S., she made Central Ohio her home and gained many friends over the years.  Trading Korean recipes for urban recipes and mastered the art of Korean Pork chops and more.  After accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior, she began to do the Lords work by helping other Koreans new to the area, gain a great foundation for their families by any legal means necessary, providing transportation for the elderly to and from Church, and more.  For those who knew Hui Cha…she loved her dog, Mojo, as family.  She took him everywhere including walks to Hoover Dam Reservoir with friends, visiting close friend Susan’s home and anywhere that permitted it.  Hui Cha was physically active over the years and enjoyed playing tennis, bad mitten, apple picking, spending time with those where she lived in Westerville playing bingo and cards, going out to eat and time with family.  Hui Cha experienced more than many will get to experience in a lifetime and anyone who was blessed to know her will remember that she was a wonderful human being and a provider for her family, but most importantly, she was a believer and follower of Christ Jesus and looks forward to being raised when Christ returns.
