Helen, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at her daughter’s home in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on November 9, 1951 to Thomas and Lola Barnes. She was adopted by Leamon and Lucille Noffsinger at the age of 9 in Michigan. Helen lived all over the country from Maryland, where her son James was born to California, where her daughter Karen was born. She spent half her career as an administrative assistant and then at the age of 37 went to college for a bachelors and masters degree for Counseling. She figured if everyone wanted to tell her their problems she might as well get paid for it. Her favorite field though was working with children. She was preceded by sisters Geneva, Patricia and Linda. She is survived by her son, James, her daughter, Karen, her granddaughters, Allison, Tabatha, Abigail, Destiny, Heaven and Bree, her great-grandchildren, Breelyn and Emerson, her sister Debbie and brother Mark, among others who knew and loved Helen. She had a private viewing on May 4 at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home attended by her closest family.
We’ll miss you a lot and don’t worry your title as “Worst Mother of the Year” will stand forever in our hearts. I’ll make sure to find one more cornfield to drive you through.
