Gillis Woolum, age 91, Long time Indian Lake resident, went to be with our Father in Heaven November 23, 2019, at Memorial Hospital, Marysville Ohio. Gil Woolum was born April 1, 1928, in Williamson, West Virginia to Gertrude Woolum and deceased father Gillis Woolum . He is preceded in death by his father Gillis Woolum , his mother Gertrude (Samons) Woolum, his wife Betty Jean (BJ) Woolum, his son Robert Alan Woolum, and his daughter Karen Eileen Woolum . He is survived by his Daughter Sherry (Marty) Pesut, Virginia Beach, VA, Gary (Cathy) Pennington, Kettering, Ohio, Gillis Anthony (Susan) Woolum, Dayton, Ohio, William Arthur (Karen) Woolum, Marysville, Ohio and many grand children and great grandchildren. Gil was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign War; he served during Post WWII in Occupied Japan as crane operator and chemical warfare specialist for 15 months. He is also a member of Indian Lake Eagles and Indian Lake Moose Lodge. He was regular contributor to many causes that he strongly believed in, Veteran Organizations, Indian Heritage Organizations to name a few. He was employed by Dayton Power and Light for over 40 years. He loved to fish, play cards and spend time with family and friends. He was always there for his family who he always dearly loved and cared for. At his request, no funeral services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held sometime in the Spring of 2020.
