George B. Nunemacher, Jr. age 94 of Columbus, OH passed away March 22, 2016. A 1940 graduate of North High School and Aero Industries Technical Institute in Los Angeles, CA. George served with two 8th Air Force Fighter Groups in WWII, the 56th FG known as Zempkes Wolfpack and the 352nd FG known as the Bluenosed Bastards of Bodney. George participated in Operation Ivy on Eniwetok during the development and explosion of the Hydrogen Bomb. Retired from ITT., Old North Hi Club Emeritus member. Survived by loving wife Virginia of (52) years, adoring daughter Georgia and many good friends & neighbors. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 with visitation from 10:00AM-12:00PM with a 12:00PM service including Military Honors at St. James Episcopal Church, 3400 Calumet St., Columbus, OH 43214 Father Phillip Harris officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Motts Military Museum at 5075 S. Hamilton Rd., Groveport, OH 43125. Funeral arrangements made by Shaw-Davis Funeral Home.
