He also served our nation as a Captain in the Ohio Army National Guard.
George was a lifelong outdoorsman; his primary passion was fly fishing. He authored books, fly fished all over the world, and was an active member of Central Ohio Fly Fishers and the Zanesfield Rod and Gun Club for many years. In addition to being an excellent teacher, George was a lifelong learner. He had a love of reading, good wine, and rarely passed on a good desert. His friends and family will miss his smile, wit, and sense-of-humor.
The family will receive guests from 6 to 8PM on Monday at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, 4341 North High St. A celebration of life will be held at a future time.
