Fred V. Thivener, Sr. age 89, born April 3, 1925 to parents Fred and Nellie [Denny] Thivener in Gallipolis , Ohio.  Died on March 27, 2015. Preceded in death by parents; wife Marion Scott ‘Cummings’ Thivener; son John Adam Thivener; sister Ernestine (William) Bunce; brothers Owen and Larry Thivener. Survived by children Fred, Jr. (Cheryl), Diana (Mervel, Jr.) Shelton and Kenneth Thivener; grandchildren Scott (Molly) Thivener, Stacy Thivener, Sean Thivener; Ginger (Chad) Wise, Christopher (Dawn) Shelton and Adam John. Many great-grandchildren. Nieces and nephews. Special nephew Jeffery Rochelle. 2 Sisters Patricia (Roger) Smith and Carolyn (Richard) Terry; sister-in-law Lucille Thivener. partner and life long companion Patricia Hale. Fred was a Veteran of WWII for the U.S. Navy. Retired Union President of COTA in Columbus. Great dog lover – his favorite being Peaches. Also played guitar and enjoyed listing to gospel music.  He loved the Lord and studied the bible and was faithful in studying the Word with Les Feldrich.  He will be sorely missed as the family was planning a 90th birthday party, but the Lord must have wanted him to spend his birthday party with him.  A one of kind old schooler. Visitation Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the SHAW-DAVIS FUENRAL HOMES, Clintonville Chapel, 4341 N High Street, Columbus, OH 43214.
