Esther Ora Mullins

Esther Ora (Holley) Mullins of Columbus Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 30th, 2023 at the age of 95.  She was born in Columbus Ohio on September 25th, 1928. Born to Chester Holley and Francis (Darst) Holley, Esther was close knit with her family from the start. She was a twin to Sherman Lester Holley and was their final of five children. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Elmer, Russell, Harold, Sherman, her son Roger Michael Mullins, and beloved pets Lucy Lou and Meow-Meow. She was an active member of Benfield church beginning in 1937, becoming the eldest member of their congregation. 

Esther never knew a stranger, if she met you, she loved you and you became her friend. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and love for all. She loved gardening, going to church, her bible study, crosswords, puzzles, dollar store trips, and playing with her great-great grandchildren. She was full of jokes, making everyone laugh brought her great joy. She always had a smile on her face, wanting no one to worry about her, only wanting to worry about them herself. She was resilient, tromping any and all battles through her life into triumph. To say she was beloved by all is an understatement, and her passing leaves everyone who had the joy of knowing her with a hole in their heart and lives. 

She is survived by her grandchildren, Nikkie (John) Beck, Michaelynn (Brian) Kinser, great grandchildren Allie (David) Beck, Jordan (Jenna) Beck, Jasmine Lowe, James Lowe, Jaeda Lowe, June Lowe, Jessica Lowe, great-great grandchildren Kylie Beck, Keyser Kuykendall, Jayce Beck, Noah Beck, Sora Beck, along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Through her family and friends, her legacy will live on as they continue to rejoice in the memories of her. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 10th at 10 AM at Shaw Davis Funeral Home at 4341 North High Street, followed by a funeral service at 11AM. A celebration of life will be held at Benfield Church at 2PM.
