Estel Lugene Estep, age 90, was born May 27, 1932 to the parents of William Dawson Estep and Rebecca Myrtle Estep, in West Virginia. Estel passed away quietly at his home, December 29, 2022. Estel was educated in the West Virginia school system after which, he joined the United States Air Force, serving his country with honors.
Estel was a devout man of faith, embracing both Christianity and Judaism as a practicing Messianic Jew. He was a loyal member of the Beth Messiah Congregation, Columbus, Ohio. He chose to live a full and humble life, following extensive employment in manufacturing and industry. Following retirement from full-time work, he continued to stay busy and active working part-time and doing various projects.
From two marriage unions, Estel has three children and one step-child: Joyce, Leah, Nathan and Dale.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Rebecca Estep, brother Marvin (Barbara) Estep, sister Irene (Ross) Ferris, sister Gloria (Ray) Blackhurst, son-in-law Arion White, grandson Michael Shawn.
Estel will be lovingly remembered by daughter Joyce (Arion) White, daughter Leah (Ronnie) Brown, son Nathan Estep, grandchildren Brennan, Brycen and Braylee, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Services are entrusted to Shaw-Davis Funeral Homes, Clintonville Chapel, 4341 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 10 from 3pm to 4pm. Funeral service will begin at 4pm.
Burial will take place on Thursday, January 12 at 10am at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St. Dayton, Ohio 45428.
