Ervin Francis Mitchell Jr.

Ervin Francis Mitchell Jr., age 61. Passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023, at his home.

Ervin was born March 26, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio. He was the son of Ervin Francis Mitchell Sr. and Sallie Lee Mitchell. He graduated from Linden McKinley High School in 1980. 

Ervin will be remembered as a carpenter and mechanic at heart; he loved building, repairing and creating things. There wasn’t much he could not fix or figure out. He was always so passionate about teaching younger people how to do the same. He enjoyed looking through his telescope at the night sky. He loved science,  watching sci-fi movies, flying drones and listening to great music. Ervin was a giver and always willing to lend a helping hand, even to people he didn’t know. He prided himself in his grandchildren; he truly adored them.

He was preceded in death by parents- Ervin Francis Mitchell Sr. and Sallie Lee Mitchell, brother- Dale Eric Mitchell and grandmother- Carrie Mae Ford.

He is survived by his brother- Krail Mitchell and sister- Kimberly Crowder, daughters- Teniqua Mitchell-Jordan and Melinda Hodge, sons- Joshua Coleman and Freddie Jordan Jr. (Son-in-law), grandchildren- Makayla Nelson, Freddie Jordan III, Juanda Hodge, Josiah Hodge, Kevonte Hodge and Deonte Hodge as well as nieces and nephews.
