(Elsa) Claire Campbell (born July 19, 1935) - a great woman, mother, artist, teacher and friend - passed away at her home March 5, 2016. Claire is sadly missed by her loving son Brian Carrigan (Linda Kelly) and grandson Zach, son Darren Campbell (Kimberly) and granddaughters Jessica and Christina, Doberman Sadie and a huge mismatched crazy fun family of friends in Ohio and beyond. All who loved her dearly can never forget her wit, determination against all odds, loyalty and quickness to laughter. Claire was never hesitant to work hard or to play hard, and she could be counted on to share her truthful opinion whether or not elicited. Her artworks bring joy to the homes and businesses of many. She received her BA from Michigan State University followed by post-graduate work in art education at The Ohio State University. She served many years as an art educator with Columbus City Schools and Troy Public Schools and was a business woman of her own acclaim in corporate interior design and boutique sales. Claire accepted her recent destiny with grace and fortitude. Her life was a true success story and a memorable lesson to us all.
A celebration of life will be held at the German Village Society Meeting Haus, 588 South Third Street, Columbus, Ohio, 43215 on March 20th, 2 - 4 PM, for those who wish to reminisce – laughter and love guaranteed.
