Ellen Nickles

In Loving Memory of Ellen Rebecca Nickles:  February 1, 1947 - June 26th, 2023.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ellen Nickles, beloved daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, niece, and friend  

Ellen led a remarkable and fulfilling life, passionately pursuing her interests and forging deep connections with her loved ones and close friends.   Her radiant spirit and infectious sense of humor sparked joy in all who she met.  She was a woman of many talents: an actress, a teacher, a story teller, a great listener, a bridge player, and an avid crocheter to name a few.  But, above all, family was the cornerstone of Ellen's life.  She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, and gave her love and support with an open heart.

Ellen embraced life's adventures with an open heart.  After spending her childhood in Cambridge Ohio, Ellen lived in Los Angeles and New York City before returning to Ohio and settling in Columbus.   Her travels took her to places far and near.  No stranger to the scenic route, she enjoyed taking the road less traveled and always stopped to appreciate the beauty along the way. Her Greek roots held a special place in her heart, and she found great joy in sharing, celebrating and exploring her cultural heritage.

Ellen leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a genuine zest for life. Her spirit lives on, rippling outward from her family and friends. May her memory be eternal.

A party to celebrate the life of Ellen will be held on Sunday July 30th, from 4:30-7:30 pm at Thompson Park North Shelter, 4250 Woodbridge Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name.  Below are some suggestions:
