Edward "Ed" Scruggs

Edward “Ed” Melvin Scruggs, 65 of Columbus, Ohio passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at his residence.

He was born July 2, 1954 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Charles and Harlena Scruggs.

Ed was a member of the East High School class of 1972.  He retired from Mansfield Correctional Institute in 1999.

Ed enjoyed fishing, landscaping, gardening, traveling, watching football and basketball and cooking shows.  He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and family pets.

In addition to his parents Ed was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Scruggs.

He leaves to cherish his memories, sisters Charlestine Scruggs of Charlotte, NC and Jackie (Curtis) Cadwell of Mansfield; brothers Charles (Melissa) Scruggs, Jr and Ricky Bragg of Mansfield; daughters Carissa Williams of Columbus, Kara (Brad) Chambers of Canton and Adena Young of Cherokee, NC; sons Brian Coombs of Jacksonville, FL and Alan (Jeanette) Coombs of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren Tiara Williams and Tyrell Hughes of Columbus, Victoria Coombs and Alan Michael Coombs of Willard, Isabella Chambers of Canton; Special Cousin D’Arco Smith; Special Friends Keith Shook and Linda Doster and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17 at 12pm at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home located at 4341 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214.  The family will receive friends on Saturday starting at 11am.
