Edward (Eddie) Pollina,77, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2023. Eddie was born on March 17,1946, in Columbus, Ohio, to Edward and Jeanne Pollina. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lea; children Anissa (Kevin) Forman, Eddie (Christy) Pollina and Anthony (Amy Lancione) Pollina; grandchildren Kaitlin, Matthew and Abbie Forman; Eddie, Laney and Jackson Pollina; sister Vicki (Curt) McIntyre, brother-in law John Dandrea (nephew Dustin), 3 grand-dogs (Bandon, Puppy & Steinie), many cousins and dear friends.
Eddie graduated from Linden McKinley High School in 1964, where he played the drums with his first band, The Countdowns. After high school, he spent a year in New York City playing drums for various artists before returning back to Columbus, Ohio, and marrying his high school sweetheart, Lea. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1966 and stationed at Fort Sill Army Base in Lawton, Oklahoma, until 1968. Upon returning back to Columbus, Eddie took a job with Patterson Dental in sales that started his career in the dental industry. He moved on to open and run the Meer Dental office in the early 1980’s. After a few years, he decided to go out on his own and Professional Designs Inc. was established, where he designed, constructed and equipped dental offices throughout the state of Ohio. During this time, he also attended The Ohio State University to further his education & career.
Eddie's love of music never wavered. In 1969, he started The Eddie Pollina Band and performed at clubs, weddings, parties and other lively events for over 50 years.
Eddie had a zest for life, a twinkle in his eye, and whenever a photo was being taken, he would be heard shouting “fuzzy-pickles”. He brought a smile to everyone that he met; a perfect gentleman and a wonderful husband, father and friend to all. Always the life of the party, he will be missed dearly.
