Duane Harry Campbell, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully at home in Columbus, Ohio, on December 2, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on October 15, 1951, in Caribou, Maine, Duane was the son of Harry and Mable Campbell.
Duane's commitment to family was evident throughout his life. He dedicated himself to his wife, Lola Faye Campbell, whom he married in 1986 after being together since 1976. Their partnership was a testament to love and shared experiences that enriched both their lives. Duane was a proud father to his children, James King (Gina King), Monica King, Dana King (Pete Dheel), and Angela Moss (Michael Moss). His legacy continues through his grandchildren Thomas Robison IV (Kristin Robison), Damion Robison, Madison Moss, and Brianna Moss. Duane also celebrated the joy of being a great-grandfather to Tori (Christian), Michael, Maranda, Zoie, Aries, Brandon, Genesis, Lexi, Kingston, and Ariah, along with his great-great-grandchild Kalen.
Duane served honorably in the army, exemplifying his dedication to service and community. His professional career was marked by his expertise in roofing and siding, home remodeling, and as an auto mechanic—skills that made him the go-to person for family and friends alike. Duane's hands were often busy, whether he was puttering around in his tool sheds or riding his lawnmower, always embodying a spirit of industriousness.
Beyond his work, Duane had a vibrant personality that touched many lives. He had an unmatched ability to make those around him laugh, especially his beloved grandchildren. Whether it was sitting down to watch wrestling or westerns, or engaging in spirited poker games with family and friends, Duane knew how to create lasting memories.
He is survived by his siblings: Mary (Jack), Bobby (Donna), Eldon (Jeannie), Linda (Louis), Betty (Arthur), Reverend Peter (Karan), Ella (Ronnie), Ricky (Debbie), Ronnie (Paulette), Carolyn (Bill), and Katherine (David).
He is preceded in death by grandchildren Tiffany King and Krissy Robison.
Although we mourn the passing of Duane Harry Campbell, we celebrate his extraordinary life and the lasting impression he left on all who knew him. He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
