Dr Lawrence Edward Hughes Jr

Dr. Lawrence E. Hughes, Jr. passed from this life to eternal life on September 7, 2024. He was born September 12, 1953 in Columbus Ohio. Larry was a graduate of Whetstone High School, The Ohio State University, and The Ohio State College of Dentistry.

He was preceded in death by his parents the Honorable Lawrence E. Hughes, Sr. and Ruth K. Hughes. He is survived by his wife Mary Lynn (Wolfe); daughters Christina (Jeffrey) Schneider and Jennifer (Charles) Meenan; brothers John (Marcella), David (Debbie), and Jim (Susan); 3 grandchildren; nieces and nephews Sara (Robert Johnson), John, Michael, and Kaela Hughes; and brother-in-law Jeff (Jean) Wolfe.

Larry was a member of The Ohio State Dental Society; Beta Theta Pi Alumni; member of Goodale Lodge and 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Freemasonry; member of Franklin County Republican Central Committee 1987-2024, and Franklin County Republican Executive Committee. He was also an active member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church.

Larry's faith was first in his life followed by his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren. Larry was loved by many, which was easy to do given his good nature and genuine love for the people around him. He had a great sense of humor and employed it during his work. He was always thankful for his dental staff and his patients who he considered family.
