Dorothy Marshall

Dorothy F. Marshall of Wesley Ridge Retirement Community, formerly of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Vero Beach, Florida, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018.  Born in Bowling Green, Indiana on July 19, 1919.  She was really looking forward to that 99th birthday. She was very proud of the fact that she still resided in Independent Living.  Graduate of Brazil High School Class of ’37.  Decided not to attend her 80th class reunion last year. She was afraid she might be the only one present.  Attended business school in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Retired after 20 years from Midland Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Preceded in death by loving husband, Richard T. Marshall of 66 years, parents, Cullen and Fern Cochran, brothers, Richard Cochran, Charles Cochran and Sam Cochran. Survived by sons, Thomas (Eriko) Marshall, Richard (Kristi) Marshall, Danny (Marsha) Marshall and daughter Melinda (Robert) Hinson, and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

“Dottie” enjoyed collecting Heisey glass and was a very active member of the National Heisey Glass Museum in Newark, Ohio.    She was an avid euchre and bridge player most of her life.  The majority of her hearing and sight loss did not stop her from playing Rummikub and BINGO regularly. She was a feisty woman with a great sense of humor throughout her life.  Dorothy was a big Ohio State Buckeye fan and never missed watching the games on TV in her Buckeye attire.

She dearly loved her family and friends and would do anything for them.  She will be incredibly missed by all.  She will never be forgotten.  A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Kimes Chapel, Wesley Ridge Retirement Community at 2:00 on Sunday, July 22, 2018. Visitation to follow.  The address is 2229 Taylor Park Drive (Rt. 256) in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, 43068.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church, Fletcher Chapel UMC, in Millersport, Ohio.
