Dorothy Ball

March 5, 1930 — April 30, 2020

Dorothy Newsome Ball, 90, left her body behind and passed into her next experience of life on April 30, 2020. Dorothy loved God and believed in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Dorothy was born in Weeksbury, KY on March 5, 1930 to Fred and E. Mae Wallin Newsome. Her family moved to Ohio during the Great Depression. She was always proud of her Appalachian roots.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred F. Ball, her parents, brother Jimmy, and brother Bill. Left to remember her are the daughter Roxie Ball of Columbus, Ohio, brother Don (Dolly) of The Plains, Ohio, brother Jack (June) of Orifino, ID, brother Mack (Treva) of Waverly, Ohio, sister Esther (Dale) Clark of Waverly, Ohio, and special cousin Betty (Terry) Bridenbaugh of Waverly, Ohio.

Dorothy attended Pleasant Valley Christian Union Church since childhood. She was also a patron of Gristmill Church, Cline Chapel Rd, Waverley, Ohio, and donated land to support the start of their ministry.

Dorothy loved to sew and made over 400 baby quilts for Touching Little Lives service organization. She loved to read, especially Christian romance novels on her Kindle. She loved to listen to gospel music on her Alexa device.

Special thanks to Dr. Vasanthy Rajah and Dr. Daniel Madsen, her personal Physicians. The family send much gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville who save her life many times in the last 11 years.

Celebration of Dorothy’s life will follow after the pandemic quarantine is lifted. Her cremains will be interred at Twin Township Cemetery in Bourneville, Ohio.
