Donald R. Flowers, “The Commish,” 68, passed away on October 5, 2018. He graduated from Grandview Heights High School. He lived a full life surrounded by his loving family, which included 6 brothers, 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren, and his loving wife, Patricia, of 46 years.
His work brought meaning to his life as he loved what he did. He started his own landscape company at a young age and cultivated rich relationships with customers. He was talented at his craft and proud of his accomplishments.
Donald was loving, kind, brave and generous. He was fiercely loyal, had a witty sense of humor, a competitive spirit, and was an eternal optimist. He was a realist, a problem-solver, and had a zest for living.
His passions were met with endless energy. Some of them included collecting antiques, attending festivals and fairs, cooking, coaching, attending sporting events, and riding his Harley-Davidson and Vespa. He was a lover of history. This made him known as the family historian. He enjoyed good food, good company, and was always up for an adventure.
Donald was adored by his grandchildren and left a lasting impression. He was a mentor to many and was forever growing and evolving. This enabled him to have deep, meaningful connections with others.
In lieu of flowers, please consider spending time with your family and letting them know how much you love them. The family would like to recognize and thank all the nursing staff for their care and compassion. A celebration of life will be held for family at a later date.
