Donald Brenon

Donald Earl (Mike) Brenon, age 93 of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 24, 2018. Mike was born in Johnstown, Ohio to the late Camilla Bourgeois and Elmer Brenon. Preceded in death by his sister Pauline. Don was a graduate of Johnstown High School, class of 1942. Mike served his country in WWII in the Army. Don retired with over 50 plus years in landscaping working for Slemmons Garden and Ken Hemlinger Landscaping. Mike was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church always wearing his bright Aloha Shirts from Hawaii. Mike loved the outdoors. Mike lived for being outdoors and being with nature, hearing the red birds sing and breathing the fresh air. He was outside daily to work in the yard. Mike was a loving, caring, hard working and generous husband and father. He was one in a million! His goal in life was to make 100 years old. Mike will be sadly missed by his family. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years Jean and his one and only daughter Michelle, who he dearly loved and who was his caretaker in the final months and days with blood cancer, and Bella the kitty. Mike is survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and 2 sisters in law Alice and Esther, and friends. A big thank you to Riverside Nurses and Ohio Health Hospice. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 to 1 pm at THE SHAW DAVIS FUNERAL HOME 4341 N High Cols. 43214 where funeral service will follow at 1pm. Interment Union Cemetery.
