Divina Marshyll Mills spirit was freed September 24, 2023 at 1:46 am after an 8 day struggle on life support. She left behind her mother, Marendy Mills, step-father, Jamie Hicks, two sisters, Bree Mills and Mindy Gish, one aunt, Rachael Yingling, two uncles, David and Jon Mills, one great-aunt, Mindy Mills, and two great uncles Glen Lee, and Patrick Mills.
Divina had a fierce spirit and generous heart, much too large for one body to hold. She experienced every emotion to its fullest, with an intensity of passion that one rarely sees in any one individual. She was simultaneously a responsible adult, yet lived her life as if it had no boundaries. She was courageous, stubborn, and determined to not let the trials of life or the expectations of society keep her from enjoying the things she valued most; family and friends. She quickly made friends everywhere she went due to her loving and generous nature. Her memory will live on through those who loved her and our lives will never be as full without her energy.
Divina was an organ donor. Upon her death, she potentially saved up to 70 lives by donating her kidneys, bone, tissue, and skin. Her other organs will be studied by medical students at OSU. Divina, during her struggle for life, used countless units of AB- blood as well as plasma and other blood products of every type. The family asks you to honor her generosity (and the efforts of the medical staff at OSU Ross) by donating blood and plasma whenever possible, wherever you may live. Become an organ donor if you can.
The family has tentatively set her Celebration of Life on October 21st and asks that those who cherished her, contact either her mother, Marendy, or her sister, Bree via text or FaceBook messenger for further details.
